Where We'll Stay & How We'll Get There
Accommodations
Mid-range accommodations are meant to be comfortable enough to enjoy spending time in when you need to rest. In most cases, I will book apartments as centrally-located as possible. We may not all be able to stay in the same place, but we will be in close proximity to each other so that it's easy to gather when we need to.
You can expect the places we stay to be clean and modern, and to have:
- air conditioning
- wi-fi
- washing machine
- living room
- kitchen
If we are lucky, we may have a balcony or a terrace to enjoy as well!

Transportation
For traveling between cities and spending a couple of hours or more en route, comfort is essential.
Whenever possible, I will book first-class train tickets. Vehicles we rent will have air conditioning and ample room for everyone. Use the links to see the maps!
July 10 - Our trip from Vienna to Budapest will be by train. The journey takes about 2 hours 45 minutes.
July 17 - The day we leave Budapest is the day of our wine trip. We'll visit Eger Castle and drive to wineries in Eger and Tokaj before we are dropped off in Miskolc, Hungary. This will take most of the day. From there, we'll take the train the rest of the way to Košice (about 1.5 hours).
July 21 - For the trip from Košice into the mountains, we'll also have vehicles. The journey will include a few stops at points of interest.
July 24 - We will take the train again from Poprad to Bratislava, about 4 hours.
July 27 - When it's time to leave Bratislava to return home, we'll have a shuttle early in the morning to take us back to the airport in Vienna. This journey takes about 45 minutes to one hour.
