You May Be Wondering...

What is slow travel?

Slow travel is a mindful approach to exploring a destination, focusing on quality over quantity and making meaningful connections with the local culture. There is plenty to see and do, but we'll stay at least a few days in each place and avoid packed, busy schedules so we have time to soak it all in.

What can I expect during the trip?

Your days can be as busy or relaxed as you want. Itineraries are organized for each day, but you're under no obligation to follow them (with occasional exceptions, when they include transportation). Stick with the plan for the day, or explore as much as you want on your own. The experience is meant to be flexible and adjustable to suit your preferences as much as possible. I'll be with you or not far off and reachable if you have questions or need recommendations. Enjoy your time!

Are we going to be doing a lot of walking?

If possible, yes, but there will always be an option to take a cab or a bus if you've had enough. You'll get the best experience by walking as much as you can.

Be prepared to walk about 5-8 km per day, though we won't always need to do that much, and it would be spread out over the whole day. Our pace will be pretty relaxed and we'll often stop to rest and take in the views. Some days we'll hardly walk at all.

How do I prepare for my trip?

You will need to book your flights, arrange your own health and/or travel insurance, make sure your passport is valid for long enough, and plan for banking/spending. I will provide information and suggestions for these, as well as for things like phone use, packing, handling jet lag, and more well in advance of our departure.

How do I book a trip?

You can book a trip by using the contact form on this website until the booking deadline. A deposit of $500 per person (non-refundable*) is due upon booking to secure your spot, and the balance can be paid in installments every few months before our departure. Check the Pricing page for details!
